Locked out of Discovery 3
Discussion
I think that it is the receiver inside the car that is buggered but I can't get into the car. Landrover Discovery 3, I've got two fobs, neither of them work. The physical key in the passenger door has never been used so is stuck solid, had a can of spray in it and 24 hours of wriggling. Car is deadlocked, tried opening the handles and locks from inside. Anyone got any magic ideas that I haven't thought of yet? Thanks in advance.
Yes, must have a smashed window or window open
Problem is that no buttons/switches will do anything if the circuits faulty
is there a reset procedure?
Anyway
If all else fails...................Google Search the below in bold (Must be Google not DuckDuckGo or others)
I have an 05 Disco 3 that has an ongoing locking problem
and click on first matching result, then see link to a Pdf file at bottom of page
Now use the information to supply the motors in the doors to release the dead-locks and then open the doors
One motor dead-locks and the other motor locks and unlocks
Be sure to disconnect the central locking circuits from the central junction box and any other control units before powering the motors

We had a locksmith out to it with a break in kit, airbagged the top of the door open and tried the buttons and handles using a bar
I'm in it now, just carried on with spraying lube into the keyhole and wriggling the key with a set of grips. The key turned once but it's back to being frozen so I'm not locking it again. Nearly 24 hours of lube and wriggling, we were locked out of it about lunchtime yesterday

Putting this down as one of life's great mysteries

When you were in you were out
When you were out you were in
When the locksmith was out he was halfway in
Then you lubed it once again
Couple of months ago I had the opposite problem with my my Caravelle - the locking mechanism was jammed so I couldn't latch the sliding door.
WD40 failed, but lithium grease applied from behind liberally to the mechanism and cables after taking the door panel off, with lots of wiggling freed things up.
