Hi, done this yesterday to my bumper sadly on a bmw 2016 3 series, I know it’s nothing major and probably most people would just leave it, I’m curious how much would it roughly cost to respray that?

Will they want to respray the whole bumper for something so small?

Either fix it properly, or don't fix it.

You definitely don’t need a whole bumper respray, a smart repair (£80-100) or even just touch it in using a touch-in pen.

For me, it was £115.00 four years ago for this to be fixed, plus a door mirror housing to be resprayed. I think the bumper scratch alone was £85.00.

I took it to this guy in Darwen who used to do mobile paintwork repairs from his van. He has a proper body shop now and puts videos of his repair work on Facebook. He sprays as much as he needs to blend the new paintwork in.

I have a slight mark on the rear diffuser of my 5 Series and he's said he'll have to respray the whole diffuser, though I've only shown him photos. That might end up costing more to fix than the scratches on the Audi. He admits he costs more than other repairers, but he does a more thorough job so he can guarantee his work and one of his jobs on Facebook is fixing someone else's poor repair.

To be quiet honest I wouldn’t mind a full bumper respray as it would get rid of the stone chips I suppose, saying that I’m not too sure about the cost that why I’m kind of trying to figure out an estimate, I have contacted 3 different garages so far waiting for the quotes to come back, I believe they are closed today so obviously I won’t get anything back.

As for the smart repair how good are they if I was to go that way and try and get rid of that scratch?

I don’t personally trust myself with any touch up kits etc so I won’t be going down that route.

I live around St Albans, London Conley area, if anyone has any recommended garages around here please also let me know, if any of them are on this forum even better!

A competent SMART repairer would have that for breakfast & you'd never see the blend.

Unfortunately that doesn't fit with the 'Bodyshop good, Smart repair bad' bleating you'll get.

My local Chipsaway guy is brilliant, circa £150 for that and totally invisible and guaranteed.

I might have a smart repair done to be quiet honest, it’s in a spot where even now you need to know it’s there before you notice it, I suppose a smart repair makes more sense, it’s an everyday car for me, I think if I was to spend more money on a full bumper repair even a small stone chip will annoy me lol.

You will be in to £250-300 for a full bumper respray. Could be worth it if the bumper is chippy.
Colour match is crucial though as silver is difficult to match well so pick who does the work wisely smile

I spoke to one of my mates, There is a good polish lad down here where I live, he has done some high end cars, and the reviews are nothing but good, I might give him a call tomorrow or so and see what he thinks of it.

300 isn’t that bad I was expecting around 600 for a full bumper respray.

It’s actually kind of insane how a small mistake can end up costing sometimes into the thousands on a car lol.
