Hi there, probably a very stupid question with a simple answer, but is there a special name/type of socket I need to undo this? Is it simple a star socket?

It’s the seat securing bolts from a Mercedes A Class.

Thanks
G.

I’m sure you’re right but could it be RIBE? Pic isn’t very clear in my phone and I haven’t got a RIBE socket to hand.

Looks to be external Torx aka female Torx Halfords sell them. Sometimes known as Torx sockets as suggested above.

You'll probably find that a six sided socket of the correct size would fit that if you don't have a female torx socket.

Got this one too, very handy when I did the cam belt on Citroen C4, engine mounts are a mix of internal and external torx
