With it being a nice day, I thought I’d take the bike out for the first run of the year. I’ve recently had the Temperature Sensor replaced as it was faulty.

Following its replacement the ECU was reset, light extinguished and all was well when stationery as regards running up to 100 Degrees with the fan cutting in.

Imagine my delight today when half a mile from home snicking into 3rd gear and the engine management light comes on, the fan kicks into permanent mode and the temperature readout stops reading. It did this around 60 Degrees.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Could be a 2nd sensor failure, wiring issue, some other cause maybe? Needs a proper check over really and read the codes.

Thanks for the response. There is clearly some further underlying issues. Would you recommend a traditional Motorcycle repairers or a more specialist electronics outfit.

I would hope it's fairly straight forward, they're relatively simple bikes after all.

I notice from your profile you're in Chester, still correct? I'm near Capenhurst, and I'd be happy to have a look at it for you if you don't mind a home spanner jockey having a poke about.

I've found a service manual and it doesn't look too bad to work with at all. Feel free to message me directly, my email in profile should work. smile

Thanks for the offer. However it’s blowing temper sensors and the fault (after speaking with the workshop) who maintains the bike, probably lies within the ECU. It’s all booked in for a week on Wednesday. Really looking forward to riding it again.

Ah that's a bit testing then, sounds like ECU repair/replace on the cards. Let us know how you get on. smile

If you do need any minor fettling and they're busy feel free to drop me a line any time, I'm always happy to tinker.
