Car purchased advertised with fsh not serviced since 2017

I’m pretty sure on a car of that age you’ll struggle to get the dealer to pay up.

FSH can mean fully serviced to the manufacturers schedule. But more often means a record of all the services carried out. It’s your responsibility to check when buying which the dealer means.

Ring the garage up and let them tell you that they serviced it and forgot to stamp it. Then they’ll offer to stamp it when you go back in.

Seriously though. What do the consumables look like? Oil? Is it black? Does the filter look new or old?

I’m guessing not main dealer with such an old car. Main dealers are different as they are part of larger groups focused on customer satisfaction and as such have formal complaints procedures. So let’s assume a smaller firm. Be

I am generally successful with these things not by going nuts, which can get people’s backs up, or where they will often be experienced in fobbing people off, I find it more effective to get people onside. Just state it must have been missed when they inspected it and you’d like to make a date for them to carry out the service that should have taken place. Phrase it so it can be explained as ‘an oversight’ rather than ‘a rip off’ as that enables them to sort it for you without them ‘admitting fault’ or ‘losing face’. Don’t start off quoting descriptions and laws around this as they’ll understand what they can get away with better than you. They can likely say that 12 services in 13 years would reasonably constitute FSH on an older vehicle. You rarely see everything done in full on time on older cars. Save that for if 1st approach doesn’t work.

They can service it for next to no cost so if you have no luck with this I’d say you’re better off agreeing to go halves, or ask if they can do it at cost, anything is better than nothing.

So it's ten years old and sold with FSH which you checked before purchasing..? even though has FSH, ie every service it has had has been recorded in the service book.? but now you want the garage to compensate you to cover the cost of a £420 service,how much was the car.?..... FFS..!
