Really sad news.

He made Friday Night Dinner - without him there woulsn't have been much left.

Also great in Chernobyl and No Offence. Some of his lines in the latter were brilliant - he completely nailed the ascerbic Mancunian wit with his delivery.

It says a lot about his talent as an actor to have been so good in Friday Night Dinner and equally as good for very different reasons in Chernobyl. RIP

RiP. So sad when anyone dies but when it's someone so young.....still, he made the most of his life and we all have to do that.

I can be fairly indifferent to such things usually if I'm honest, but I am genuinely saddened by this for some reason.

Only 4 years older than me too, perhaps I should get off my arse and sort the list of things I've been pondering for the last few years...

Incredibly saddened by his passing. He was the provider of so many belly laughs as Martin Goodman. With Mark Heap they absolutely made FND. My family have spent so many hours quoting Martin and as we continue to do so it will now be tinged with sadness.
RIP Paul.

Can’t believe this. Friday Night Dinner became too repetitive, but he was the only character that made it worth watching. He was utterly tremendous in Chernobyl and I am extremely sad to hear of his passing.

Very sad

Amazing how he could manage such a convincing character in whatever he applied himself to - Particularly strong in some scenes in "Chernobyl" for example - yet timing for humour too.

Sounds like our house!

My Daughter and I just watched the last episode of Season 6 (with the 2 Lucy's). We sat there reciting the lines to the bemusement of my other half.

With the passing of both Grandmothers and now 'Martin' I can't see there being anymore made. More's the pity

Don't think there has been any real plan to make another series of it even prior to this. There was a 10 year documentary about FND on a while ago, shows like that are generally the final goodbye rather than than precursor to a new series.
