E87 1 Series HID headlight issue

Not really an issue, more an annoyance. Just before the MOT the passenger side headlight wouldnt turn on, process of elimination revealed the ballast had failed.
Replaced it and was fine for about 2 days then 'failed' again, replaced under warranty and all good for about a month then, you guessed it, failed again.
So a bit of fiddling and turns out if you adjust the screws that hold the ballast in it works fine again for a short time, are their any known issues with these, or do I have to go through the ball ache of removing the headlight to check the ballast plug?
