991.1 - Alarm siren module replacement.
Discussion
Hi all
My 2012 991.1 C2S has recently developed a fault where when I lock the car there's a single beep/chirp. None of the doors, windows, glove box, arm rest or rear spoiler are open, and more often that not I also find that the hazard lights start to flash. I have to unlock and then re-lock until the lights no longer flash. Disabling the interior sensor by double locking doesn't change the problem.
I've had a specialist run a diagnosis and they think that the alarm siren might be faulty. Does anyone know if this is a straight forward replacement or will it need to be coded to the car, and secondly the code on the current siren is 1K8 951 605B, do I need this exact replacement or is their a never version ? I believe that this is a common item across the VW group, in fact the current one has the VW and Audi symbol on it.
Many thanks
Mark

I had the same fault on my car, same age and model. I don’t think there was much involved as they did it at the same time as the recall for the heat shield.
Was all done under warranty so don’t know about the labour, sorry. Only other thing that’s gone wrong with the car in the last 18 months I’ve owned it is the left bank solenoid. Again thankfully under warranty.
