Anyone know of a Nova SR for sale anywhere. Had a D reg one when I was younger and would love to own one again.

Best of luck finding an un-barried one!

Great little cars - I definitely wouldn't say no to one myself, although it's a 1.3GL 2-door saloon that I've always fancied, for some strange reason.

I had the pleasure of owning a 1.3 sr and my twin brother had the 1.4 Sr. God i was so jealous of that .1 extra....

Thanks. I am serious but starting to give up hope and may have to reluctantly settle for my second choice of an xr3i that I also used to own.

My old man test-drove a Sport back in the day but decided it would be too juicy for the daily commute. Ended up buying an SR instead.

I've just about forgiven him! ;-p

I think I had more fun in my nova sr than my xr3i but I feel like if I keep waiting I'll also miss out on any nice xr3's that are turning up

Keep an eye on the usual auction sites, Matthersons and Anglia and be prepared for a long wait.

If I wanted a Nova these days I'd just buy any 3 door shell that still has some structural integrity, then buy at least another as a donor car and still be annoyed I'd need a tonne of over priced rubbish old parts to go with it. I would never pay ten grand or more!!!!

A mate of mine has been playing with Novas for years and has essentially ended up with a decent spec c20xe + gearbox, driveshafts, subframe, loom and pair of Recaros which just get transferred from one shell to another whenever they rot or he finds one in better condition. He gave up on GTE/GSIs when people were paying £2000 for junk yet a 30k 1 owner 1.2 lux was £250

Another option is to get yourself in and around some owners as cars may get advertised in those circles first. Try https://www.pngclub.com/

Is there such a thing laugh

I thought they were horrible way back in the mid 80's, let alone 35 years later..!

However, my prejudice aside, I suspect that you've more chance of finding a XR3i than a Nova SR these days, although that might depend on whether you want an earlier gen Mk.3 XR3i or the later Mk 4 version?

Mathewsons had one in the last auction.

I have a vague recollection it had twin webers on, but that might have been a different one.

I owned 2 nova sports in the past and I am sure it had a different front bumper and wheel trims to this one?

Was thinking the same, when we were 17 a mate had a Sport and it had white hubcaps? and had a white valance under the front bumper?. Amazingly when I last saw him he still has it stored.

Remember it was quicker than a classmates 1.4 SR but now as quick as my VTR Saxo.

Had a 1.4 SRi, absolutely loved that car and drove the wheels off that thing and it never missed a beat!
Good luck finding one for decent money, everything 90’s has gone mental now.
