Best way of Predicting future value?

What is the best method to predict likely future value of a car? I’m looking at cars around 2/3 years old like the golf R and trying to say in 3 years time with say 8k miles per year it will be worth X, maintenance might cost C and I’m left with an asset worth Y then my cost of ownership would be this much. This should allow me to compare it to possible cheap lease deals on new ones

Look at the values of 5/6 year old ones now, that’ll give you a rough indication.

Golf R’s seem to be holding value remarkably well, I’ve been looking at them for a while and a decent 7.5 Estate is still about £22k.
