Bugger - they were hard to compete with when they were further away, could somewhat screw my fledgling bike business now they are closer
What can you do that they won't? Probably the option here...They have a very nice looking KTM 790 adventure r
But think I’ll pass

Test rides - I already do them but most aren't bothered.I'll have to pay for more wanted ads, if I could buy bikes for similar prices, I'd be laughing

Aren't they doing test rides? What is the point of selling second hand bikes if you can't test ride it? Come to think of it, whats the point of selling new bikes if you don't have a demo?
Have been riding for nearly 20 years, owned probably 20 bikes, I have taken one test ride.Iminquarantine said:

I called on a bike and the sales guy said they don't do them. After you have agreed a deal, paid etc they will allow you out after you've taxed it and if you don't like it then they will refund you - less the tax and admin fee I presume.
As the bike I was interested in also needed a tyre and MOT so it was going to take 2 weeks, I lost interest
Gives me somewhere else to go other than CMC Clay Cross. The idea of a cafe/meeting point attached to a dealership is a good idea, if you ask me. On two occasions, I have been up to CMC and ended up leaving with a Mokka, cake and a side of new motorcycle.
I wonder how much business they will do on a race day?

Plenty of places won't let you test ride second hand bikes.
Can't see the point of buying a bike off them in that case, unless they are within a half hour of my house: They don't offer a test ride, so I can't check for faults. They are too far away for me to use their used vehicle warranty without transport expense and flaffing around on my part. Seems like I'd be paying the overhead of a dealer, without the benefit. Might as well just buy privately.
Actually there was a dealer, name escapes me, who I rang when I was looking for a bike last year. Bikes were prices and the very top end of the reasonable price range. Didn't allow test rides. Even suggested to me that I go to a dealer to try out a new bike of the same model I was looking at used, thereby transferring his overheads onto someone else. Bzzzzzzttt. I just bought it off someone else.
