Best sound system to connect with digital subscriptions

I've been using a Sonos system connected to Spotify and recently Amazon music for several years but am finding it frustrating.

The game has no doubt moved on from when I bought it, where's the best place to spend £500 ish?

I bought two of the Amazon Echo Studio's at just under £200 each. I run Amazon HD Music and they do sound pretty good for what they are. Bit of a pain getting them to work as a pair but the 3D sound feature does actually sound quite good. I'm a hifi fanatic and find it good enough for say a desk top/office set up.
