Micro SD Card Problems
Discussion
I have 2 identical dash cams (70MAI) with 2 seperate micro SD cards that both playback fine on the dash cam app, when I put one SD card into an adapter and plug it into my laptop it works fine and all the files on the SD show up and I can view them, when I put the 2nd SD card into the adapter and plug it in I get the following....

The micro sd card that works in my laptop is a Sandisk 16gb class 10, the one that doesnt is a Sandisk 64gb class 10
Any ideas?

Treat yourself to a USB card reader, cheap these days. Eg

Now old is the laptop? 64GB will be sdxc which an old reader may struggle with.
Laptop is around 4/5 years oldsgrimshaw said:

Where did you get the cards from? There are a lot of fakes around that report sizes bigger than they actually are.
Card that works I bought off ebay, the car that doesn't I bought in Argos, I think the first reply posted on here is most likely the reason, how can I update so it will work? Thanks

The adaptor just converts the card size so it fits in a full size sd card slot. No electronics just some plastic and metal to reroute the pins layout.
Try the USB adaptor, this replaces the built in card reader in the laptop, which at 5 years old might not support cards over 32gb.
I will invest in one and see if it worksTry the USB adaptor, this replaces the built in card reader in the laptop, which at 5 years old might not support cards over 32gb.

Probably worn out card adapter (they don't last long) or possibly worn out memory card (dashcams are brutal to memory cards).
Surely if the card adapter was worn out neither card would work? memory car is brand new (2 weeks old) and only used for 4/5 hours as it was bought for the new dash cam in my weekend toySaleen836 said:

Sorry for late reply. It's probably not a worn out card.
Some micro sd cards (and some adapters) are slightly different thicknesses and won't connect securely in some adapters. I have some micro sd cards which don't fit securely in some adapters and end up not being recognised. Adapters become looser as they get used, often not lasting more than a few dozen times.
A few years ago Samsung used to produce some nice chunky metal micro-sd to usb adapters with the ciick-in/click-out spring loaded type of mechanism as found in many devices. They weren't cheap (maybe came with large cards with several £ added to the price) but I have a couple of those Samsung adapters which always work with whatever card I put into them.
