Porsche Reading
Discussion
Despite the bad rap most OPC's get, and the fact I am fortunate to have an ex works Le Mans Porsche mechanic 4 miles away. I have heard good reports of Reading, always going to be more pricey but essential if warranty work etc.. I guess it might be because they are so close to Head Office
Thanks for the comments. I had my 996 booked in for a "service" but they failed to provide a "courtesy car" and then told me it was my fault! I have written a complaint to the dealer principal but fear that Porsche have sold too many cars to offer high quality customer after-care /support. Just an observation and I will be pleased to be proved wrong. I will post again if I get a reply.
Found that out today when my GT3 had its 12,ooo mile service at OPC Guildford. Needs a new shock absorber and also end of exhaust fortunately both under warranty. Booked it in for 2 weeks time as Motorsport parts take 7 - 10 days apparently only to be then told 3 weeks minimum notice for a courtesy car and I'd need to provide my own insurance!!
Porsche Reading are a good bunch in my experience, even though I use Ray Northway for all normal servicing etc. Was at PCGB on Saturday morning for a £1.30 rear brake light bulb. The guy even lent me a screwdriver to fit it and gave me discount!
Seriously I think the key is to develop a relationship, us human beings seem to like doing business with people we get on with. Funny that!
