991 Air oil separator covered under warranty?

Has anyone been told by their OPC that a faulty air oil separator is not covered under approved used Porsche warranty? I just wanted to confirm this is correct. They made a first class job and they did relent and cover mine as I had only done 200 miles since purchase but said the supplying Porsche dealer I got the car from (300 miles from my home) would pick up the tab as the warranty would not cover it as in their words " we don't cover noises" I said its making a noise because its faulty??
