Looming for ideas of what to replace my current 9-3 Aero auto estate with within the next 12 months.

The Saab was purchased as my first real long term car after years of being an idiot and changing constantly. Had it for over 2 years now and am wanting to change it in year or so.

It ticks most boxes as it’s a petrol auto with a few mod cons (heated seats, hid lights and reverse sensors) plus a little bit of poke however it’s not that quick and the ride is a tad crashy since it’s the Aero. The VED is my biggest annoyance as it’s the same as I used to pay on much quicker cars like my old ISFs.

Any suggestions? So far the Octavia VRS seems like the obvious choice

Octavia VRS is the best all rounder IMO, other than that there is the fabia estate vrs if you can get one, or the Volvo V70R. All depends how old you are prepared to go. theres the subaru WRX wagon too or forester

Seeing as you have a bit of time also lookout for the Mondeo 2.0T it's a better steer than the Skoda but they're harder to find.

Ive had one of these for the last three years and got to say its one of the best cars ive ever owned and to drive with the amg pack its brilliant. Not the fastest car but never bought it for that, just very comfy and the suspension is brilliant. Helps that it was a dealer demonstrator so has every option on it. Brilliant car and i still thing one of the best looking estates. I bought it on 79k and three years later its on 93k now and been fab.
