Boxster 987 3.4 S oil leak

Hi all,
I would be really grateful if someone could help me. I recently purchased a 2008 plate 987 3.4 s. I noticed something had been covered up with some chemical spray and paid to have it removed as I was concerned and was told that it would just be an oil seal that needed replacing. I have since pinpointed the leak but my local garage is not sure if the part that is leaking is removable? Please see below the pictures. Image 1 shows the source of the leak and image 2 shows a close up. I can't work out if it is a rounded nut or something that can't be removed. Any help would be much appreciated.
