Is this the right wheel for this interior? Something looks a bit odd about it. 2000 XJ8 Sovereign.

You‘re spot on, it‘s off. The steering wheel originates from an XJ Sport or XJR with a charcoal interior. And the airbag cover has been retrimmed as it is missing the growler badge and the horizontal stitching line. Also, the colour should be matching with the dash and not the seats.
