Bluetooth Mouse
Discussion
I've been using a wired logitech B100 for years, but looking to upgrade to a bluetooth mouse and free up some ports on my Macbook Air.
The internet tells me I need a Logitech MX master... but I wonder if that's overkill for mainly browser and spreadsheets all day.
What are you using and would you recommend it?

I use a Microsoft mouse: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XVWPV6T
Other half uses a smaller version: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07L5DDPXX/ref=twister... but that's too small for my hands.
Both seem excellent for normal PC work.
They are often on sale
There is also https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071VC9998?smid=A3P5RO...

Logitech MX Master all day and all year long.
I switched to one of these a year ago and hope they never stop making them - best mouse I've ever had.
I previously used an Apple Mouse (wired and bluetooth versions), Dell mouse, Microsoft Mouse, and none come close to the MX Master.
One recharge lasts about a month of daily use and each time you wake it up there are 3 leds on the side indicating remaining charge. It's comfortable, has extra buttons if you need them, horizontal thumb operated scroll wheel, will pair with, and remember 3 different computers, but THE real killer for me is the vertical scroll wheel. Move it slowly and it acts like a normal (but very precise) scroll. Give it a bit of a spin, and the "ratchet" type thing disengages and the wheel spins freely for some time. This is brilliant if you're in a long document or scroll down a long web page and want to return to the top - just spin it and it really quickly scrolls up to the top. As soon as you stop it spinning, the "ratchet" re-engages. If you want you can disable the ratchet manually with a button, but personally I never do.
They are not cheap (currently £60 on Amazon - link above), but the price will quickly be forgotten and you'll not regret it.
All obviously IMHO!

I love my MX Master, the software is really good and customisable. It's easy to switch between devices via a button on the bottom and the ratchet scroll wheel is great.
I bought one of these for less than a tenner (in grey, bit more for colours) to replace a failed Microsoft mouse and was so pleased with it I bought a second one and shelved, literally, my other MS mouse. Solid little piece of kit with a decent “feel”, and batteries still going strong since last November so far.
Mac compatible apparently, but the Next Page and Previous Page buttons on the side don’t work with Macs. I never use them anyway.

Another vote for the MX Master here, I've had mine for a while and its been perfect. Used at work for spreadsheets etc, fast scrolling is superb.
Keep an eye out on Amazon, the plain MX's were something like £30 during Black Friday I think. The prices do vary sometimes, I fancy an MX 3 when I find one for around £60

MX Anywhere here. Similar to the master just a it smaller. Nice weight and build quality along with the rechargeable battery that lasts a month or two between charges
I've got one of those as well, really good for a travel mouse.OP: You can get the Master series from Amazon on offer quite often. I bought my MX Master for about £35 during a sale.

I have three - one for my home PC, one for my WFH PC and one at work (which I bought also myself because they're so good).

Magic Mouse 2 really good and the gesture control is handy to have.
I use both Apple and Windows PCs (and bootcamp) - and have used the supplier Apple mice for probably less than a week before chucking it in a drawer and forgetting about it.If you think the Magic Mouse is good, you really need to try a Logi/Logitech MX Master. I have them on all my machines...Windows and Mac (and the smaller MX Anywhere version for the laptop).
You can probably tell my preference...

I'm on my second MX mouse - first one I used for so long most of the rubber in the thumb well had worn away. I replaced it with a Microsoft mouse, which was really good, but it's wireless connectivity suffered from interference from something in the house - can't remember what, so I treated myself to a MX2. There is a known weak point in most MX mice across the series, the mechanism that locks/unlocks the free scrolling of the middle wheel can stick and on rare occasions break. Didn't have a problem on my original mouse but i have had to knock my MX2 hard to free it - the alternative is to take apart the mouse (there are instructions on the 'Net but I seem to remember there is a risk of breakage). if/when mine does fail I will treat myself to a MX3. Certainly worth the money.
Oh also good for gaming as the thumb buttons work well for acceleration/deceleration, just a shame the thumb wheel does not work with any game I play, oh and you might have to hack a setting in the mouse config file to get the middle wheel to act as a button.

I use this -
Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed - Wireless Gaming Mouse, Wireless Gaming Mouse (with Razer Hyperspeed Technology, Advanced 5G Optical Sensor and 6 Configurable Buttons) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Y8QWZDW/ref=cm_sw_r...
It’s mostly used for gaming, but it does work very well and is comfortable to use for long periods of time

How many machines do you have?
