Picked up a 2020 X4 M40i for the wife in Sept last year which I must say is a great daily and the new tech absolutely brilliant.

It has full Tech pack, M pack and Comfort pack but doesn't have the Speed Limit display (which I thought it did), but apparently as of 2020 this only came with Driving Assistance Pack which we dont have.

I believe its possible to get the Speed Limit Display activated but does anyone know how this can be coded easily and cheaply?

I've used Carly in the past for 'simple' coding on my E92 M3 but not familiar with how its done on the newer models.

Do you have a KAFAS camera?

It has the dual forward facing cameras either side of the rear view mirror which I believe are required.

I think you'll need to buy an FSC code and inject it to the KAFAS camera. There are a few companies who can do that, some of them even remotely (laptop and a cable required).

Thanks and I’d roughly managed to deduce that from lots of US forums but no idea how/who can go about doing that here.

Any ideas/recommendations welcome.

BMW really are short sighted on things like this. I’d pay them £300 to remotely code it or flash it when next in the dealers. Crazy given the hardware is already there.

Bavarian Coding ( https://www.facebook.com/Bavarian-Coding-140450228... ) seem to have a good reputation. I've seen that these guys are quite active too: https://www.facebook.com/GACoding

I'd drop them a message to see what's possible, nothing you can lose!

They have started doing this but I think it's just idrive 7 cars that can access the full range you can get them to code stuff like high beam assist/drive recorder etc...I would imagine they will roll more out

Thanks for these and will contact both. Presume they need the car rather than offering any form of remote service?

They might be able to do it remotely if you have an ENET cable.
