Income Protection Insurance

Does anyone know if any UK insurers are still offering income protection policies?

It seems that they've all left the market due to the uncertainties of covid.

Aviva still have it on their site but they don’t sell it direct, you have to go through an advisor/middle man.

No connection beyond that and just left it to renew so no comparison really. I put my details in looking for life insurance to a comparison website and she came back recommending income protection.

Yeah you can still get them no problem...they just have a clause that does not cover covid related illness.

Yes, all income protection is still available. If you are referring to unemployment cover then this isn’t available at the minute due to rising unemployment rates.

I did want the unemployment cover, yes - is that simply not possible at the moment?

It’s not with any of the providers we have no, and it’s a pretty vast panel. Most providers pulled out at the start of covid. You may get some providers return to the market next year but not many.

Tbf unemployment is the one that affects people the least as long as you back yourself to find another job fairly quickly.

Income protection covers you for health issues that stop you doing your job, ie back injuries, mental health, cancer etc.
