I’m more offended that vine, a white middle aged, public school, active Christian, male dominates the morning slot on tv, then the mid day slot on radio.
Perhaps he should step down and allow someone from a bame background have a chance.
Nah thought not. Easier for him to point out lack of diversity elsewhere.

With age comes experience and sensibility or something 😂
Anyway Vine just baits the Daily Mail readers so they call into his shows all outraged.
Whilst I hesitate to defend the chap with the show I most detest on radio, I can’t help but feel that calling him scum and a w
ker is a touch...overkill ?
Is it really necessary to get yourself so worked up about somebody who presents a tv show you most likely don’t watch? His radio show IS far more likely to be heard, but I personally just turn it over or off.
I guess I just don’t get the need for such vitriol.

I commented on the other thread, his wife is white middle class public school as well. I’m guessing his kids are privately educated. Do as I say not as I do . Perhaps he should step down and allow someone from a bame background have a chance.

Quite.

I've never listened to his radio show and I've never watched his TV show.
It's pretty easy to avoid.
I mean "utter scum" seriously

^This. He’s not a criminal, he provides for his family, he pays his taxes, and he clearly entertains a lot of people. So, he’s a good man, even if I don’t like his show or his opinions much. It’s just his job to spark debate and he’s certainly achieved that.

On the specific point about the royal family’s funeral, I think it’s neither race-baiting nor particularly noteworthy. I just think it’s a bit like pointing out that at Mr Smith’s funeral a disproportionate number of people had the surname ‘Smith’.
