I sold my Fireblade back in 2002 and saw it in .Ebay this week ......and I bid enough to get it back , it needs a bit of work , ( rear shock and tyres.) but in the pics it still looks good. quite chuffed

Awesome find biggrin

There's a few cars I've sold in the past which I'd buy back tomorrow if I found them but the one which always sticks in my mind is a white 1998 Peugeot 106 GTi

Well done on that.

Simon Carter from Blackpool Honda posted on their Facebook page about this today. I think he was equally made up for you.

Congrats... I only managed to buy a bike like my old one, the dream would have been to buy my actual old bike as you have managed ! Very very cool.

That's a bike that should live up to the expectations/recollections quite well.

Early Fireblades, R1's etc are still damn good bikes.

Too often people look back to an old bike with rose tinted glasses and if they were ever to ride them again I think they'd be sorely disillusioned

These are still brilliant bikes. I have just re-bought mine after owning from 1992 till 2009. Was a bit concerned with how rose tinted my memories would be but i'm amazed how good these still are. Admittedly it's had a suspension, brake, tyre refresh but i'm loving it!..Plenty enough for the road and just a quality bike. I'll try and post a picture!

I've owned both. R1 was a brilliant bike....
