Pimp my wheelchair. Suggestions?

Gel motorcycle battery mounted somewhere discreet would power a phone charger and LEDs easy enough.
Not a customisation strictly, but my Nan was in a chair and had something that draped over the back of the seat with pockets etc in it. Useful to put her bag in for taking her shopping and maybe you could mount something interesting in it?

There's going to be loads of potential. Between us, she's gonna have the most 'pimped whip' around!
But initial thoughts - plastidip spray (check out 'dip your car') - quick, easy and loads of cool effects (pearlescent, immense metallic sparkle, colour changing (either 'flip' like TVRs, or with changes in temp).
Wheels - if self propelled, lighter wheels will make a huge difference in ease of moving around. Again, they can get pimped (carbon she's probably not going to be bothered by as a finish - but lights, colours, etc.).
Phone charger/tech holders (I'll speak to the chaps at work, we might well have something that could be of use...)
Personalised 'number plate' on the back.
Seat - oh my, this is important for comfort, but also a chance for some cool customisation with coverings. Again, I might well be able to help here (or rather, Mrs Sway could - and she's very empathetic to this topic, she narrowly avoided the same fate).
Practical additions - cupholder/ useful storage she can make use of herself (often, rather patronisingly, they're rear mounted for 'carer's use' rather than the actual occupant.
A lot of this could be done in a way that allows easy changeover to another style/config. So she doesn't get bored, and also so it's tailored to suit all the different things kids want to do.

Can an NHS wheelchair be slammed? That would look sick innit.
More seriously I think LEDs would be nice, or it could be decorated in keeping with something she likes. It’s such a thought of such a young girl to end up in a wheelchair, best of luck to her and I do hope she gets the wheelchair looking how she wants it.

I've just done a brief search.
It seems there are a fair few professional chair builders but also some custom parts suppliers also that have some funky stuff.
OP would you be prepared to orginise a fund raising thingy bobby?
Or would this idea be better when she is an adult?
I would be happy to donate.

How about multi coloured led strip lights, I'm sure you could get some usb powered ones.
Yep just checked on Amazon. Simple self adhesive onto the frame, and she can use a remote control to have all sorts of flashing and colour changing combinations

Have a look at some Paralympians, they have competition chairs but must have some chairs they use out of competition that might have some ideas.
Neons!!!, you can buy LED strip lights which would look good. Agree that a full strip and respray with plastikote is ideal but you can buy sticker bomb packs or sheets like wall which aren’t that hard to wrap apply, a friendly powder coating specialist will probably be worth a call too.
Does it have grips for some one else to push, have a look at mountain bike grips as they are available in loads of colours.

you can get pink clip on spoke wraps, and pink candy metalflake vinyl wrap, girlie up my daughters motocrosser.
If you are allowed to and know how to true a wheel, twisting crossed over spokes gives a cool snowflake effect.
