There are also a lot of strange inconsistencies with the story, for example, refusing to share the TMO, it's a 2 minute job to send in an FOI.
I've also never heard of TMO's need to be checked every 18 months, I've seen plenty that are over 50 years old and never get locked out if the road hasn't changed.
To me it sounds like he got off on a technicality that he had no possible knowledge of, got lucky!

I think (could be wrong) that he moved out of his own place to his parents' so that he could try to claim to have no possessions of his own?ks on that, how would that even work!?!It would have been a lot less hassle and stress to not have racked up hundreds of tickets by not parking on the yellows every day.
The council will cease enforcement at that location?
Will they remove the extra 4m of yellow lines? Will they amend and reissue the TRO?
Will they tighten up on procedures that should check the quality of work done?
Will anyone get a b********g for the error?
Did anyone get off their a**e behind a desk to look at the long standing dispute properly?
If it got to the stage of bailiffs then did a court case go through with less than full evidence or proof of correct TRO spec?

The walloper didn't dispute the TRO until he was knee deep in tickets - he knew nothing about it. He had just 'assumed' the tickets were invalid 'because private road'.Did anyone get off their a**e behind a desk to look at the long standing dispute properly?

He got off on a technicality regarding the TRO, once he found out that might be a lifeline. If he'd carried on as he was, arguing the toss about 'private road' he would have lost. He was just lucky.

Looking at Corner Farm Close on Google Maps it's right next to Tadworth railway station so presumably there's an issue with commuter parking in non-COVID times. I am slightly surprised that the residents / owners of the private road haven't got Parking Eye or someone enforcing parking on their street. Two years of unpaid private "charges" could be a lot more than £20k!
Next time someone posts about inconsiderate parking or being blocked in by someone everyone on here will be patting the offender on the back if they're congratulating the guy on this so called win.
