So I've picked up a fair amount of tar (OK, to some eyes it might be what tar?) but I was after a spray solution that someone here uses and heartily recommends.

So what do you use for shifting tar?

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

I used Autoglym tar remover and clay bar. The amount the clay bar picked up was eye watering! Both available on Amazon at a cheaper price than buying from Autoglym direct.

Tardis 5l £30 delivered eBay. The grey Chem resistant sprayers last ages with this stuff.

Auto smart tardis is hard to beat, you will need your own sprayer to put it in though.

I'm not too fussy about my cars so don't take my advice if you're an enthusiastic detailer, but I just use neat petrol to clean off tar spots.

Same here. It's not dangerous as I have never smoked!

I’ve found Sonax to work well and I prefer the aerosol form factor as the trigger spray stuff seems to run off too quick.

Tar and glue is far more effective. It’s brilliant on adhesive residue as well, hence the name. I believe they used to use petrol back in the day.

Autoglym tar spot remover is good. But my bottle of meguairs waterless wax spray works equally well
