Fuel gauge 2016 Ford Transit - any knowledgeable people?

The fuel gauge has stopped working on my van - it stuck in the empty position. Low fuel warning light is not on. (Almost a full tank of fuel BTW)

The Distance To Empty display is correct - it show around 400 miles left.

Do both the gauge and the Distance To Empty display use the fuel tank sender?

ie is it possible that the sender has failed or would the Distance to Empty read out be wrong as well?

Any pointers?

Can you try reading fuel level with an OBD reader?

A cheap Bluetooth one and phone app (Forscan) should do it.

Sounds like it's the gauge itself.

Update. Bought a cheap little wifi reader from Amazon. Worked a treat. Only issue is the fuel gauge started working again No faults found but will no doubt come in handy at some stage. Thanks.

Just out of interest, did you run the tank very low before filling up and having the problem? I recently bought a 2018 Connect, any info going forward might be useful.

Not really. It was about quarter full and I filled up. Gauge was fine showed full tank. Then next day stuck on zero. Couple of days later started the van and it was fine. Odd.
