I can highly recommend the Huawei P30 Lite.
I bought one around 18 months ago and it's been brilliant, good camera, NFC, nice size and weight, very quick.
Also - reading reviews and it sounds great, but someone on Amazon says they cant get Google Play on it? Do you know of that issue?I bought one around 18 months ago and it's been brilliant, good camera, NFC, nice size and weight, very quick.

NFC means you can use android/Google pay, contactless payments without having to have your bank card on you. That is an issue with newer Huawei models because of Trumps Huawei ban, which meant that new Huawei phones would not have access to Google services like the Google play store. The P30 Lite though, being an older model, is fine and has Google apps and services.
I also particularly like the placement of the fingerprint sensor. I decided to go for a new Samsung A52 on a contract last week and have already gone back to my trusty Huawei as its so much nicer to use and hold.

Is there a danger that you can't get upgrades on it due to the Google ban?

I need to get a handset. Nothing specific needed, ideally just the best thing I can get for around £150.
I hear Xiaomi are good?
That is exactly what I would buy. I would get the redmi note 9 for £119.I hear Xiaomi are good?

I bought a Moto G8 a few weeks ago for about £120. And for £120 it's very good.
My only issue with this phone is the screen resolution, it is only HD+ so is 720 x 1560 pixels RobbieTheTruth said:
How so cheap! Still available?
they had a sale i think, i bought 2 for 90 then .2 more for 66, kept one sold the rest. Just cheap an eye on the website or deals website. I've been using it a month now and there are zero issues, runs fast never slowed down. Really big and does everything i want, i don't play games on it.I had a Samsung before, because it had wifi calling function and that was 3 times the price but was the worst phone I've ever owned.
Only issue is ads but they can removed/reduced very easily.

It was a glitch, should have been £79 for the 4GB / 64GB.I bought one (Redmi 9) for my wife at the tail end of last year for £120, she loved it. Bought another for my son for christmas (£80). Finally got myself one this time around (£34, was expecting to pay £80ish).
We've all come from smaller phones and didn't want something as big, but it's turned out not to be a problem.
For a cheap phone it's brilliant. Fast enough for me, great battery life, NFC, dual sim etc. Xiaomi seem to have regular deals at the moment, I checked them on HUKD for a while before buying each of the above.

I absolutely wish my children would be prepared to have an Android phone over an iPhone. I absolutely hate Apple with a passion, the rubbish battery life, the way they are so lockdown, the fact you cannot use a memory card, they only have one sim slot, the way the apps are tied to your region and the fact they are four times more than the equivalent Android phone. But no, they would rather stick with an iPhone 8 than get one of these. Trouble is, to upgrade to an iphone 12 is about £800.........

There is zero chance of me ever buying anyone an iphone. But no, they would rather stick with an iPhone 8 than get one of these. Trouble is, to upgrade to an iphone 12 is about £800.........
