Mii Electric finally arrived
Discussion
The wifes Mii Electric has finally arrived after much delay (hers as she broke a leg and we pushed the delivery)
However we are waiting on our charge point now and need a household cable to charge a bit in the meantime.
Im assuming this one is fine and dandy

Not seen those, but no reason to assume it won’t be fine.
I assumed it would come with one, but having just looked at the configurator, it seems not. Bit tight on something costing that much but I kind of get why they didn’t include it I suppose.
I like the 0-60 time!! That’ll be a fun little car.

I've been using that exact charger on our Tesla with no problems at all, it's even powered via an extension lead and nothing gets hot. Chris-S said:

Confused now. The SEAT configurator said a 0-62mph time of 3.9s, which was why I made that comment, but other sources are saying 12.3...which probably seems more believable TBH. Given it weighs over a ton and only has 83bhp/156lbft, I think I'll go with the 12.3s to 60mph and revise my comment to 'that'll be a fine urban runabout' as no doubt it'll be quick off the mark.

Been phoning round VAG group dealers to find a 3 pin charger and so far its much more expensive too buy an official one too. Between 215 and 250 so far.
Maybe keep trying, I picked one up from my local Seat dealer for £148 incl VAT about 2 weeks ago. My Mii turned up yesterday as well, cracking little car!

Definetly 0-30 time, goes a lot better than I expected, not really that sluggish up to 60-70 either overall, certainly doesn't feel slow.

Makes sense. I did a double-take on the SEAT website to make sure...it was definitely 0-62mph @ 3.9 seconds so they need to fix that! Here you go, as of now:

The thing is that people often forget with EV's is that it takes no effort. If the number is 12s to 60mph, you'll get that by just putting your foot down. No theater, drama, kicks from gear changes. It just goes.
If you have a VW Polo for example that is quoted to 12s, you'd have to nearly strangle it to near death to get that time, something you don't do all day.
It's what makes acceleration in a Tesla or Taycan so impressive too. It's not that they are supercar fast, it's just the apparent easy of it that's disconcerting and messes with your senses.
I've had a Twizy for a while that on paper is slow, but because of the ease of acceleration it felt more than enough to keep up with all city traffic with ease.

While you're right about it being effortless, repeatable and lacking drama... It's not that makes it seem like it's accelerating so quickly, that's Jerk you want... the EV with it's max torque from the moment it turns, gives you a rapid change in acceleration - Jerk, which ICE can't do.If the number is 12s to 60mph, you'll get that by just putting your foot down. Agreed, the immediacy of it certainly plays. It's still under "takes no effort, no drama", there's no gear change needed to get the revs up, automatic or otherwise. Just push the pedal and go.
A lot of ev's have a less "jerky" acceleration profile anyway. I don't know about the Mii.

You're right their too, the closest you get is more "squeal" from the electronics, but I think my dog is more aware of that than me.It's still under "takes no effort, no drama", there's no gear change needed to get the revs up, automatic or otherwise. Just push the pedal and go.

The Twizy is a good example. It's not powerful, but you can mash the foot down all the time without feeling/sounding like a berk, and it wont jerk in any way. Just effortless "go".
The Tesla is another matter though. Warn your passengers before mashing the throttle in it. It's violent.
But, in short, I can imagine a 12 sec EV not feeling as slow as that number would suggest.
