I know Metal sheds have been brough up every so often in here, but here goes again anyway. At least I'm not asking which oil/tyres/helmet.

At the whim of 'er oo must be obeyed I appear to be swapping our house with a larger than average single garage for a house with a larger than average living room.
We are moving house in the near future and the new place doesn't have a garage.
Taking up some of the new lounge unfortunately isn't an option as it is on the first floor and i have a VFR not a Gas Gas.
I've therefore been looking at these metal bike garages and am wondering if there's anywhere that has a display of them to prod and poke. Asgard look like the best quality but pricey. Argos, well I suspect "can you bring one out from the back for me to have a look at" would not go down well in my local Sainsbury biggrin
So what do I do
I'm based in Notts, but am currently working in the teeside area and have no issue travelling 50 miles out of my way home to eliminate or be impressed by what is on offer if it's in front of me and I can have a look at it.
Anyone local to you have a display of these things?

Any advice?

I'd be looking to pour a concrete base for whatever gets bought so a floor anchor should be easy enough to sort.

I don't think such a place exists unfortunately.

Mate has an Asgard but up close I wasn't too impressed so went with an Armadillo Box instead. Seems to be thicker steel and was a fair bit cheaper.

Mines sits on 3 8ft long concrete spurs laid flat, mortared to flagstones and the box is bolted to them. It has an anchor mounted to the box floor. A lot cheaper than a concrete floor and raised an inch or so to allow rainwater to flow under rather than in. The Asgard needs a dead level base, these don't as they're more rigid.

To be fair to Asgard, insurers recognise their products resulting in significant reductions in premiums ( https://www.asgardsss.co.uk/high-security-sheds )

I would consider insurance as some insurers have different versions of what constitutes security and it could make a significant difference to premiums going forwards.

Below is a good article on the subject however they all do it slightly different so it’s worth checking with your insurer directly.

Thanks for the heads up, but size for size they seem to be about the same price as Asgard’s and sticking . Looking for a normal shed sized thing so maybe the smaller ones are cheaper. I’m 6’4” and wouldn’t fancy getting my faired bike out of a low one day in day out.

These are by far the best.

They don’t seem to do a tall one though.
1.6m high seems to be the max.

I wouldn't bother, probably condensate quite badly, I'd just stick it in a wooden shed with a ground anchor set into the concrete base.
