Thinking of replacing my iMac with a Mac mini setup but having difficulty deciding on a suitable monitor.

I’d like it to be a 32” 4K adjustable height IPS panel. I don’t play games. USB C would be helpful.

I like the look of viewsonic, eizo, benq and iiyama, but can’t decide between them.

Preferably under £800.

Any suggestions?

Edited to add- BenQ PD3200U looks promising, although not usb-c unfortunately.

I like the look of that LG, especially the mounting options. Thanks.

If you don't use it for gaming then I'd suggest an ultrawide rather than a 4k monitor. I've got a QHD 34" and it's like having two square monitors without a gap in the middle. Excellent for work

Agree - I’m using a Mac Mini M1 with a Dell 3818DW ultrawide through USB-C, great combination

Current iMac resolution is 2560x1440 and I don’t find it high enough. Ultrawide unfortunately won’t improve on that (horizontal) hence wanting 4K (at least). If that makes sense.

I’ve got the BenQ EW3270U. Very nice monitor. Just annoying that it it’s high enough wattage output via the usbc to charge my laptop. Wont effect your use.

Do you have separate speakers and a webcam? I like the idea of a Mini to replace the iMac but like the minimalist footprint

Wowsers. Kinda glad I have crap eyes and wouldn't benefit from a quality screen - I bought two Samsung 32" 4K monitors for £440.

Our's just arrived this week. I obviously cannot compare it to other option but I have to say I'm highly impressed so far. Screen quality seems excellent. The specs seemed to be on a par with BenQ options. I was looking for a 4k IPS with wide colour gammut and built in speakers. Many of the more serious monitors don't seem to have speakers and I didn't want yet another lump on the desk. The additional ports on the back are useful too. Helps keep things tidy and the stand is a thing of beauty.

An ultrawide QHD will be 3440x1440 so a fair bit more width on the resolution

4K is a bit wider again, but if you don't have a bigger panel you might need to scale up past 100% anyway losing the benefit of the additional pixels

Ultrawides do look very impressive, and I’m tempted. I’m hoping that with 32” 4K I can increase the text size, but leave os furniture 1x and hopefully that’ll work well for me. I don’t quite have room for 2 x 27” which would be an alternative, hence a single 32”. 6k or similar would be better, but too costly for me!

I think one of the problems is trying to picture what’ll work best in the space I have and with macOS.

You can get a VESA mount for the Mac Mini - so it hides behind the telly.

Just see telly, wireless keyboard and touchpad

I've had that LG monitor for the last 6 months and rate it very highly - the picture quality and colour reproduction is excellent (and far better than the 40" 4k monitor I also use), having USB C is really handy for my laptop, and the stand works brilliantly. Would recommend it.

Do they meet the OP's requirements?

If so, post the model numbers/source and the OP can get a bargain?

Very interested in this too.
