My van has very oxidized and dull paint on a lot of the panels. I've been given an old Challenge 240V 2 handled polisher to have a go at restoring the shine a bit. I carefully tried it on a few panels with firstly some t-cut and then some autoglym SRP by hand. Definitely brought a shine, but I was using very old hard mop heads for it and I think it can be a lot better.
I've got some new mops coming for it, one buffing and one for applying t-cut or polish. Is this sort of polisher okay for the job? I'm thinking I may instead of the products I have, go for an all in one, or try just the autoglym first instead of t-cut.

I don't need a perfect finish, as it is white, swirl marks don't really show. So I really just want a shine back to the paint.

Cheers

Bin the T-cut.
Farecla G3 or similar.
Give the sponges a good rinsing before using & periodically whilst polishing to remove build-up of compound/dirt.
Squeeze out as much excess water as possible before putting it back on the machine & spinning it up to remove more water - it will go everywere!
Use a spray bottle of water & mist some water onto the panel to act as a lubricant.
Keep the polisher moving to avoid heat build up.
Be careful on panel swage lines as it is all too easy to linger a bit too long & you'll be through the paint.
Follow up with a good wax polish to help protect the surface & prolong the time before you need to do it again.
