Hi all, hope someone with more knowledge than I can help. We have just bought a new Samsung UE43TU8500 43 inch HDR 4K TV and I've set it up all good, but the picture seems to suffer from what I can only describe as a frame rate drop quite frequently. For example while watching the F1 Imola GP at the weekend, occasionally the cars would appear as if in slow motion briefly before returning to a smooth, slick picture.

Also watching TV programmes, the presenter will move their head or something and briefly would judder as if the frame rate has dropped but then return to smooth.

All the TV's picture settings that supposedly 'help' are turned off, connection to Sky box is fine, the older TV we had before was perfect. Its such a random, but very distracting issue, hope someone can help before I have to send it back.

I did have an issue similar to this with my Samsung when I first bought it. It was one of those 'helpfull' setting that is supposed to make pictures look smoother, but didn't. Can't remember exactly which on either was, something like motion enhancement or similar.

Well I've found what seems like a fundamental issue with the Samsung TV's from 2020 onwards. In researching this issue I've found 90 odd pages on a site called AV forums about this Samsung judder frame rate issue. There is no fix and Samsung refuse to acknowledge the issue by all accounts.

I was watching Pointless earlier and it was awful, really distracting so I think it's going to have to go back. It's a shame as the picture is great and the smart TV interface is excellent.

If you just bought it, a warranty claim?

To be honest I can't be bothered with the hassle, looking at the av forum its obviously not a quick fix. People have had Samsung engineers out, remote controlled from the technical department to adjust the TV etc and nothing has been fixed. I've found a Sony 4K TV of similar spec, bit more pricey but seems to have very good reviews. Hopefully the retailer will be good enough to enable a return.
