Twenty or more years ago I bought a small (11ft) sailing dinghy at a car boot sale. It looks like this American-made 'Snark'. From what I've read, they were licence-built in the UK too, and I wondered if anyone knows what they were called here, and who made them?

I've never sailed mine, its just lived round the side of the house, but circumstances have changed and I'm thinking of getting it going.

The American ones I've read about, in many cases had a vac-formed skin top and bottom, around the polystyrene. Mine has a woven fabric skin, probably thick nylon or polyester cloth, glued to the entire outside of the hull from the gunwales down. I need to make a new centreboard & rudder for mine, as the plywood used clearly wasn't marine ply.

Do you know anything about them, or have you even sailed one?
