Unbeleivable. Clearly can't read signs or understand what "average" means.

Agreed, and all speeds were sensible ie none significantly above default 70mph motorway limit. Seems fair to me.

Great example of where proper policing rather than delayed action $cam€ras would have raised her awareness of the dangerous offence she was committing immediately and prevented exposing the public to further acts of such extreme danger.

Were there roadworks? (No mention in article). Given that 60mph is acceptable on many single carriage way roads, 70 through motorway roadworks is not inherently dangerous- depends on traffic volumes, lane width, presence of workers etc.

But my point was not that we should all whizz through roadworks without slowing down- it was that if she had been clocked at 90mph, saying she thought limit was 70mph would be no mitigation.

Tesco were fined about £7 million or so the other day for selling out of date food and there was a footnote in the newspaper report sying they were also fined an additional £170 victim surcharge.

In the grand scheme of things it seemed to not add very much to the story but made me smile.

An exceptional hardship plea can only be used for mitigation once in 3 years.

TBH I am surprised it worked this time as it seemed to be all about her, rather than how others may suffer if she was to be disqualified, sounds like incorrect use of the guidlines, but that may have been just crap reporting

I assumed the fact the offences were all similar and within a short period - before the first NIP arrived - would be why they exercised discretion. But the article doesn't say.
Working nights certainly isn't a reason to escape a ban on 17 points.
