Hall effect sensor sensitivity
Discussion
I'm using a Hall effect sensor with small magnets to determine the rotation of an object round a center point. All works fine. Except the sensitivity is too high. In my code (using an Aurdino micro) I have put some code to average out 50 readings before sending. The loop runs at about 120khz and its very noisy.
The problem I have is its so sensitive. Even slight pressure either side creates a fairly large movement. It's hard to keep the things centered.
How best to reduce it? For info I'm a computer scientist of 20 years do code is my thing, electronics I'm just learning. I thought about coding a dead zone but that feels a bit odd. I have 3 magnets either side of the sensor. Would removing one each side work, or is there some way of blocking some of the magnetism?
