DCS Sale - Into the Warbirds

The Mossie is the only WWII module I have any real desire to own, so far. Rumour is there is a Hellcat coming after the Corsair. I love the Hellcat, Pacific ops on the new Marianas map could tempt me to spend more time flying the older stuff.
Can't wait for the Mossie ! Was It combat flight sim 2 in the Pacific? Played that to death.Narcisus said:

Yes, I think it was CFS2. Still a little way off though, Marianas modern edition is Q3 release, there is no date for the WWII edition and the Hellcat not even officially announced yet. The Mossie should be soon though.

AHH ! I was hunting for an F-105 ! Back to Jane's USAF then
Last time I mentioned DCS on here I got deathly silence. Not tried any of the warbirds myself but am loving the 2.7 update in the (slightly more) modern stuff.
Bought Syria and the Harrier in the sale. In VR doing low level stuff at night in the new rain and clouds is very immersive.

Not tried it in VR yet but do fancy the Harrier. Still find myself flying the F86 more than anything. Picked up the Tomcat in the last sale but not tried ir yet !Bought Syria and the Harrier in the sale. In VR doing low level stuff at night in the new rain and clouds is very immersive.
There's a free T-45C just out too that looks great. Makes up for the Hawk debacle

Just flown my first circuit in the Spit... Not helped by me only having a couple of hours using pedals instead of twist stick.... Got airborne followed by much yawing, pitching. Finally managed to straighten out with much trimming of the rudder and elevators.
Noticed elevator and rudder trim needed to be used throughout the flight..... Note dont snap open the throttle from low RPM when slow !!!
Over the threshold and I thought my god i'm going to grease it !!! Touched down then bounced down the runway until the prop smashed itself to bits
At least I lived to walk away !!

Depending on what stick you are using, knock the pitch Y saturation down to about 70, and curves in both pitch and roll of between 15-25 to suit. That should make the Spit a lot easier to handle. It's just a case of practice with it. Noticed elevator and rudder trim needed to be used throughout the flight..... Note dont snap open the throttle from low RPM when slow !!!

The default pitch trim is when you spawn in is set at what it nominally would have been left at on landing, so you need to apply 6-7 secs of Nose down trim to just above neutral for take-off. Go for nearly full right rudder trim and that should be about right.
About 8-10lbs of boost for take off (no need for full throttle), with about 2/3 of full right aileron deflection for the first half of the take-off roll, easing it to about 1/3 by the time you lift off....
You should find that quite manageable.
As an aside - Warbird night on the MVP Playground server is always a lot of fun (next one is Saturday 8th May) - do come along. Comms are on the MVP Discord...

MVP is a lot less serious than GR, and we have a large number of real-life pilots involved. Community-wise, DCS has been rather cliquey in recent times, and MVP is changing that. We've grown quickly, in just 10 months to over 1300+ on the Discord and have just literally in the last two weeks, taken over the running of VA (Virtual-Airshows), and have had DCS World Events (The biggest combat competition group) and VARS (Virtual Air Racing Series) join under our banner. Lots of ongoing community events, and of course the airshows. (Most recent was SIA21 https://www.twitch.tv/videos/997904549 )
