First time ever, could have sworn it was either a Tamora or a Tuscan, definately a TVR S6.
But no, looked up and ther was this silver (obviously) 911 bumbling up the street.

Have porsche owners finally got the point?

some of the Later Turbo models or Carrera 4's can sound quite raspy and burble quite nicely. There are a couple around my way but they definately dont have the distinctive TIV sound. They do sound quite nice at chat though IMO.

ALL sixes sound gorgeous and that of a normally aspirated 911 is one of the most evocotive and distinctive. In fact any 'multiple of three' produce something uniquely musical: Tripples, Sixes, Twelves - not to mention 9 and 18 cylinder radials. Remember the throb from a Laverda Jota.........ooh luverly

nope. most flat 6s i've heard sound like tyres rolling along the road

however I do recall once hearing a very lovely sounding late 80s 911 turbo with what sounded almost like a V8 exhaust note prowling through a motorway services car park.
