Range Rover Sport- Gear Selector

Hi, I was Parked up yesterday and couldn't get my 2015 RR sport into Drive.

Just wondering if anyone can explain to me what the problem is.

Hard to tell with that much information as it could be something as simple as not having your foot on the brake.

...but as it's all controlled via ECU, it could have just had a 'brain fart', cured by a simple re-boot (turning off and then back on).

Very common fault but thankfully an easy fix, there's even a repair kit available for it these days: LR117072.

The trigger mech inside the gearlever fails giving the symptoms you describe. There's a thread on Range Rovers.net describing the repair process, but it was written before the kits were available so not every step is applicable. However, the photos will help.
