20 cars at bca from Alphabet

That seems a lot - I don’t think I have ever seen 28 AM for sale at any one time there before!
There is a new vantage with an Alcantara dash and it looks a lot better than the leather to me - first time I’ve seen that on a new vantage !

My question might be out of date, if BCA have closed all their auction sites and now sell entirely online.
Are the 28 AMs all at one BCA site?
What model mix makes up those 28 cars?
Will you be able to give us an idea of the sold prices in due course?
As AML have openly revealed, that the new Vantage has not achieved their sales targets, trade bidders won't want to overpay for that model.
Hi Jon, BCA are doing online atm only but still using all their sites so the cars are located all over. Corby is where most of these DB11, Vanquish, and V8s from Alphabet are located (alphabet being bmw finance which i believe is used by AM dealers)
Breakdown is:-
DB11 - 6
Vanquish - 10
V8 vantage -7
DBS superleg - 2
Rapide - 2
Db7 -2
Db9 - 1
V12 vantage - 1
I can only see sell prices if I’m watching the auction (no historical price look up) - which I can’t due to work (as tempting as it would be as I’m in the market for a Rapide and the last two were bought by main dealers). I may try to watch the v8’s if I can.
I believe anyone can register to view the stock, but you need a trade account to see guide prices and bid.

The Vantage deals only ran from November to December '19, so have a little while until they hit the market yet. Mine's due back in December.
P.s the 'deal' cars were through Alphera, or at lest mine wasJust interested what impact the relatively low-cost introduction to the new Vantage might have done to the buyer's mindset and/or appreciation of AM.
The DB7 and DB9 cars must have come through by "we buy any car" which as you know is owned by BCA.
Maybe covid related, owners maybe needing to sell quickly or due to a bereavement.
I went to a BCA auction in Nottingham before Covid, even to get in and get a number you need to pay a deposit of £1000 on your CC (refundable) and whilst I was there no real bargains went through some prices above autotrader private sale, just loads of car dealers.

Do you have a plan as what to do in December? New car, keep the old one, different marque, nothing etc?

Good question! If I can keep this one I probably will, it's my second Aston and I love the brand so it wasn't an introduction to the marque per se. The only issue is that part of the reason the deal was so good is the balloon payment is huge, far above current market rate. So I'm not going to overpay to have 'my' car back as that would be daft.Just interested what impact the relatively low-cost introduction to the new Vantage might have done to the buyer's mindset and/or appreciation of AM.
I'm getting more and more tempted by a Porsche, a 911 GT3 most likely, especially as values have held up well and are even on the rise. Failing that, my dream car is a Ferrari F12, which also seem to have hit the bottom of their depreciation curve so now might be the time to scratch that itch.
What I can't get away from is that my Vantage will probably be worth £85k or less by December, which means it's stunning value for what it is. The Porsche or Ferrari will be almost double that, and I'm not sure they're double the car.

Of interest and related.
Your comments indicate, that although AP quickly increased retail sales of the new Vantage during those two months, even for you as a previous Aston Martin owner, the over priced balloon requirement two years later, results in a customer likely to leave the marque.
Contrast that with the VH era, when so many AM owners became loyal repeat customers.
AP was able to report successful retail sales to shareholders, but a few weeks later - P45.
The £1,000 + 23x£1,000 deals involved a few hundred cars, so presumably BCA should be busy at the end of this year.
Wonder if those auction sales will be staggered. If only a few auctions, they might not find enough buyers for several hundred cars.

I can't see many necessarily being repeat AM customers for a new Vantage to replace it because how do you mentally/emotionally go from paying £1kpm with no deposit to £30k + £1450 a month or whatever the going rate is for the same product? They've not meaningfully updated it in that time - it doesn't even have Carplay still!! The new bumper can be retrofitted for £3k so that's hardly a dealbreaker either.
That 'deal' wasn't a good move for the company in any other way than freeing up space in dealer's carparks and getting them off the books, it's a crying shame for AM that it got to that.
Not for me and the lucky few others that got cheap cars though!
Mine is the Dec19 deal and as mentioned earlier I expect the GFV to be much higher than a similar vehicle on a forecourt somewhere, so it will go. Unless Alphera relook at GFVs and get sensible about its actual value. Discussions with them so far have been useless.
Any one know how many Dec19 cars were sold? I had heard 100-150 cars were surplus, so such a number hitting the market Q1 2022 might cause some price pain.

The overall deal must have been instigated by AML, because they wanted the dealer stock shifted.
Cannot imagine the finance company would have agreed to take a 'hit'.
AML have already written off £35m for those deals, which I guess would have represented part of the original dealer purchase cost (think fitted optional extras were not charged for in PCP deals).
Therefore Alphera must have presumably been guaranteed the GFV, so AML might pay the difference between disposal price and GFV to Alphera.
If so, that would probably explain why your negotiations met a blank.
3rd Quarter new UK registrations for Vantage;
2018 = 215
2019 = 151
4th Quarter new UK registrations for Vantage;
2018 = 107
2019 = 277
Therefore possibly nearly 200 PCP cars in the special promotion.

For any business this has got to be worse than disappointing. If the DBX doesn't come close to selling 4000 units each year then this doesn't bode well for AML's survival. Massive shame that a company doing so well under Bez' tenure is now performing so badly. Porsche & Ferrari must be quite pleased with Andy Palmer's contribution to redesign each model.2018 = 215
