Caterham Seven – 1999 Roadsport 140
Discussion
I have been the proud owner of this Seven for three years now and am loving every minute of it.
The car is mechanically stock – with the Supersport engine upgrade that Caterham Cars fitted during the (factory) build. It has the wide-track front suspension, lowered floors, and I am now able to switch between the full screen and a pair of Brooklands aero screens – these are new for 2021!
If you have never driven (or been driven) in a Caterham or Lotus Seven, the experience is so far away from 'regular' cars that you should take any opportunity you can get.
Enjoy the Drive!

Lovely bit of kit, for those of us not up to speed with Caterhams which engine has it got? Has it got an LSD?
Thank you. It has a 1.8-litre K-series (Rover) which should make about 140bhp at 6500rpm. Redline is 7000. It weighs less than 600Kg, so flies along and of course it grips the road like only a Seven will do. The Roadsport has an open Diff – with so little weight and a smooth power delivery you don't really need an LSD unless you want to do donuts. I'm not a trackday fan, so this is purely a B-Road blaster. Tupwood said:
