Hi,
Can anyone tell me if changing pads and disks myself will have a detrimental effect on existing warranty or PCP when the car is handed back?

If you use genuine parts and did yourself I can't see an issue.
Would they ever know?

If it were due pads and discs at a certain mileage would they want proof of when and where the work was done?

They probably won't even notice unless it's visually obvious (plain discs replaced with grooved, or vice versa)

The concern was around all the service history being stored electronically in the car now (BMW). Not sure if it can be reset with an OBD reader or if it will show as a missed service.
I'm sure they do this to make sure you always go back to the main dealer.
