Selling on eBay advice
Discussion
Never sold anything before on eBay, but have put a car for sale on there - no buy it now price & bids have gone past the reserve that I set.
Do I have to register a bank account details with eBay for any possible sale to proceed? How does it work? Had a look at eBays terms etc, but still not clear. eBay charge for using them, so how/when do I pay them? Cheers

The best way to sell a car on eBay is to via a classified ad. Costs around £20 and is a flat fee. Your email and/or phone number is included in the ad and you then just negotiate with potential buyers just as you would advertising anywhere else.
You can list a car as an auction if you want (which it seems you have) but I think eBay fees are then based on the final selling price. The difficulty of this method is that there is not really any (legitimate) way of anyone viewing your car prior to purchase.

I've been selling bits and prices, including cars, for about 15 years on Ebay, and the advice given above by Fady is correct.
For cars, just use eBay as an advert. Don't bother with the auction or 'Buy it now' stuff.
For what it's worth, I have have very good success with cars on eBay. It seems to be one of those places that everyone looks when browsing.

Why are we advising him to sell via a classified ad when he clearly has an auction running and it’s passed its reserve so it will sell?
OP the buyer can pay any way they like and either eBay will pay you directly less the fee into your bank account if you’ve registered it or you can withdraw the money from PayPal

Because we are grossly incompetent and did not read the OP correctly.OP the buyer can pay any way they like and either eBay will pay you directly less the fee into your bank account if you’ve registered it or you can withdraw the money from PayPal

Beware that the winning bidder can come and visit, look the car over and decide not to pay if they feel it's not as described, and that some winning bidders don't settle up.
ps when you created the ebay listing you would have been given options to choose which types of payments you accept. This will be included in your listing somewhere.
