Hi all,

Looking for help identifying a part number and stockist for this wheel bearing. It is manufactured by NTN but I'm sure other bearing manufacturers make the same part in their ranges. I believe it may be used in a porsche application, but do not know 100%. In my case, its fitted to an ariel atom.

On the bearing it says "2005270152". It also says "AU0837".

I've tried googling all that but can't get a match.

I can measure accurately tomorrow when in work if necessary, but I was under the impression that the numbers stamped on bearings were a kind of "key" that identify the external/internal diameter etc?

I would be grateful for any help smile

Is it 80mm outer diameter, 42mm inner diameter, and 42mm wide?

Because that's what AU0837 shows up as when I search for one.

Some of the writing may not be what it seems ? Looked like AU0S37, but 837 brings up Porsche.

Porsche bearing ?

Any local "bearing factor" will have them by the hundred, just find your local one on google & give them a call.

I will have a measure up tomorrow when in work, but that looks promising!

Excellent!

Many thanks indeed gents! I will measure and compare tomorrow, but I reckon those links are the right bearing. That will save a few quid going forward, bought the one in the pics above from Ariel and paid just under £75 for the bearing, with postage on top of that!

Thanks again smile

Great idea! Many moons ago when I rode motorbikes, I did exactly that to get wheel bearings for them and it saved a small fortune, I completely forgot about doing that!! ! Will have to find a local place as I've moved house since my 2 wheel days wink

Don't get too excited, the Automotive sector is totally different and more often than not unavailable to your local stockist.
Worth a try if you don't have to go too far out of your way.

Not one your local bearing stockist would keep, its an automotive item, and has integrated magnetic sensor ring

It looks like a pretty normal bearing, and the dimensions aren't anything weird, a bearing supplier should be able to come up with one.

One hopes this is a typo rather than a thread drift.

Perhaps I am missing something but can you not call Ariel themselves and ask?

I'm guessing he wishes to buy local, or elsewhere, as dealer prices are probably much higher than it actually costs.

The OP said, Ariel want £75 plus postage for it. It should be half that.
