I'll start - 2008 E93 335i. 187,000 and going strong. Owned by me since 2011.

Still has the BMW insured warranty on it though, which is reassuring, given it's had in its lifetime the turbos replaces twice, new water pump complete new fuel system, new alternator, small rocker cover oil leaks repaired twice, etc.

I tend to try and only use Shell Optimax fuel and the engine is as smooth as butter, good fuel consumption (averages 27mpg) and pulls like a train. I just wish the auto transmission was 'quicker' and more responsive.

Hi 335i 'ers'. smile

I've been very impressed by the extended warranty - paid out a couple of fairly big bills post-100k miles. I wonder though, if a REALLY big bill arises (engine blowing up, etc), what would they do, as our cars are only worth about £5k now, tops.

Thanks - I assume I'll need to go to some reputable 'Tuning' shop to get this done? I don't have any software/hardware at home (or the expertise) to do this myself.

Thinking about an ECU remap to 340 bhp - quite cheap these days (but worried about the warranty on the car).

What does the BMW warranty cost at this kind of mileage?

Currently costs me £48 per month, including a £100 excess. It started at £38/mth, 9 years ago, when the car had 45,000 miles on the clock and was 3 years old (but with full BMWSH). I've paid monthly since the start, that's why the premium increases have been minor. smile

Wow, pretty impressive and if memory serves not far off what a 2016 car would have cost in its first year out of warranty when I last looked

I’ve just purchased a E91 335i - 2011 - 24500 miles. It’s got full BMW service history, but it was purchased from an independent Dealership, not BMW. I’ve tried to get a BMW warranty quote, but it won’t allow me. I guess I should contact BMW UK directly? Anybody know of any reasons why they wouldn’t be able to quote me?
I’d like the peace of mind that a warranty offers, as I plan to keep this car for a long time!

Impressive! Where did you find that example with such low mileage?

Thanks! I've been following the market for quote a while, waiting for a low mileage nicely spec'd model to appear. As soon as it did, I pounced! It's only 1 owner from new, clearly an older gentleman who seemed to potter around Oxford.

All you need is an OBD adapter and a smart phone, I haven't done it myself but is one of the first mods people seem to do going by the UK E9x owners groups I'm part of on Facebook.

Yep - during my ownership the warranty has paid out several times. Turbos replaced twice. Water pump once. Whole fuel system replaced once (end to end, including fuel pump). Two or three small oil leaks. Alternator replaced once. Couple of electrical problems. I'd say about £8k to £10k of work at retail.

The 335i in particular can throw up big bills. Mine at the moment has been running perfectly for the last 2 yrs and 20k miles. Really smooth and 'pulls like a train'. Engine consumes about 1 litre of oil every 10k miles, which is pretty good! smile

Difficult one to call. I put 50k miles on an N54 (bought at 42k, on its original turbos) and only ever had to replace the water pump and a fuel sensor. It depends on how they are driven, if thrashed before they've got oil temp then they'll generally not last. Perhaps buying one with recent new turbos would give you peace of mind.
