Another shocking murder, that of Police Community Support Officer Julia James.. Press conference has no clue yet as to motive, but not thought to be robbery.., but she suffered multiple blunt trauma to the head..

Likely to be coincidental, but regardless still interesting there could be two (well, three) murders so close together in such a rural area:

"The hamlet, surrounded by fields, lies less than three miles from the village of Chillenden where Lin Russell and her six-year-old daughter Megan were killed in a savage attack in July 1996 while walking their dogs"

That said, Michael Stone has always professed his innocence, he was convicted based on evidence from a prisoner who claimed that he confessed to the murder while in prison for an unrelated crime. There was never any forensic evidence, or any other evidence I believe.

Not much noise from the press on this one, sadly they seem more interested in wallpaper. I wont hold my breath for the peaceful mass vigil in Clapham Common or similar...

Reading anything on the Michael Stone case brings questions to mind.

I'm not suggesting these two cases are connected, bt i'm not convinced Stone was the right man.

Absolutely tragic a lady out walking her dog

The police seem to think it might be a stranger attack which is thankfully incredibly rare

May she RIP

Wallpaper is yesterdays news, the big story for today is Boris hasn't changed his mobile phone number for a few years.

How about not trying to make a murder in to a dig at things you don’t like?

Bit baffled by the way the Police have made a big deal of telling the media
the unremarkable theory that the crime was probably committed by a stranger, well thanks Sherlock.

Did they initially think it was a family member ?

Doesn't bode well, they are setting out their stall of having bugger all evidence.

Looking at an aerial photo, it's a lot less isolated than it appears - there's Aylesham nearby which looks like it's just had a couple of hundred new houses tacked onto an existing pre-war estate.

Whilst this guy is still out there, women will be on their guard. Must be so unnerving for the locals, but he could be anywhere now...
Hoping he's soon caught..

Why wouldn't they? A stranger murder (where the suspect isn't in custody) is important information for the public to know.
Most murders are by people known to the victim I believe.

Are you guys reading it that the culprit is a stranger to the Police? biggrin

Also extremely unusual.

No.

My point is the police will inform the public that they think the murderer wasn’t known to the victim so people can take precautions if they so wish.
It also removes her close family from being the subject of small town tittle-tattle and baseless rumour-mongery...

It sounds horribly similar to a woman murdered near us, in Sandiway, Cheshire, about 20 yrs ago. Police completely baffled.

Apparently there is a thing about ‘lone female dog walker killings’ - there’s been a few of them that are unsolved.

In today's newspaper, is the possibility of a dognapper attempt, which went wrong. There appear to have been some dogs stolen in the local area - including the fake RSPCA van, though that could have been the reporter reading the local facebook group.
It's possible, I expect she would have put up a fight as she'd have been trained in self defence.

One week on and still no motive for the killing of Julia, and no arrests.. Nothing can be worse than this case going "cold" so soon.
As a vigil is being prepared, police are warning locals to inform someone of where they are going and the route taken..! Can' t imagine the concern and worry of the locals there right now....

FYI Stone was totally innocent. At his retrial the judge told the jury they have to decide based on whether the "confession" was true. There was no other evidence.

Levi Bellfield probanly did the Chilenden murders. A beige Ford was seen. Levi's gf had one and it went missing days later.

Seen elsewhere and cropped by me to remove identity of the female poster

It’s quite thought provoking

The problem with Julia James is that she's not young and pretty and doesn't live in that there London.
