Check your ISP

I've been blithely paying an ISP £24.99 for several years now. They even e-mailed ne to say they'd reduced my monthly fee by a quid at one stage. Good for them. Now I have another e-mail and decided to investigate the packages on offer and WTF? All I ever wanted was a broadband service and there it is for £14.99 a month. Even their top package now seems to cost only £19.99 and includes free phone calls and 8 million e-mails and 30GB a month use so what the hell am I paying for?

Needless to say, I've "downgraded" and now have exactly what I had before (same speed) for a tenner less. Grrr.

I use them and I have had a bit of a go at them in the past for this. I now check about every couple of months to ensure that they have not changed the packages.

Broadband is finally outstripping dial-up. So competition is hoting up nicely. I’m with Virgin and they recently dropped their entry package (3GB a month download) to £14.99.

I've just got a package that gives me broadband plus all my telephone calls to any landline in the UK 24 hours a day for £19.95 a month. I spend more than that usually just on my phone charges so I'm quids in and happy!

Thanks for the heads up, have just got a free upgrade from 512kb to 1mb. All I had to do was click a few buttons. Why didn't they just give me it automatically, money grabbing bar stewards.

Had a similar issue with demon. They offered the same package for a fiver less than I was paying, and never told me!

But now all demon broadbands are getting upped from 512 to 2mbs for nothing

We got that as well, works out at £38 and a bit quid a month for BB, line rental and all calls.
It would've been great if they hadn't made a bollox of our first 2 bills but hey.

Needs 8meg now though, just got a DVD burner and it takes too long to download 'backups' of my dvd's
