VED delay question
Discussion
This has probably been answered before but PH search is a mystery to me, so please either direct me to the correct thread or give me some pointers....
I bought a secondhand vehicle from a dealer the other day. He did V5 online & I got email confirmation in a matter of seconds.
He then went to pay VED online using my debit card. There is a payment to DVLA on my current account, but 2 days later vehicle is still shown as SORN on VED check website. Unfortunately the dealer didn't print out the confirmation... DVLA website says to wait 5 days before contacting them. If it's still shown SORN next week, how do I get this rectified?

I bought a car last week, got the e-mail conf immediately then a few days later that info made it to the gov website. I got the change of registered owner and conf of my trade in straight away too,
Got V5 just a few days latter, so all good.
If it’s not updated in the next week, then contact DVLA direct if you’re concerned…

I bought a car from a remote dealer and had it delivered. It came with the new owner part of the V5 and they said they’d posted the details of the purchase to the DVLA. It’s now over 5 weeks later and still no sign of the new logbook for the car. The DVLA website says to give it 6 weeks before chasing it, but I doubt I will be seeing it now.
It was an EV so £0 VED. I don’t know if you still have to go through the palaver of “cashing in” the old tax and “paying” for a new lot when it is a sale of a £0 vehicle. If so, that’s probably not been done either and I’ll be getting a fine next.
