owned by a very nice individual, who is a true petrolhead.

Let the fun begin on guessing what they make.

I wonder why the person who has obviously spent a lot of thought and time assembling this marvellous collection is now choosing to sell and if it’s a reduction I wonder what they are keeping?

That is more intriguing to me.

Agreed, I wonder why "Leonard" thinks that it is a good time to sell ?

Interesting also that he has chosen Collecting cars ...

I wonder if there will be a reserve on each ?

There could be many reasons for selling.

Plenty of people are predicting a demise in the value of ICE cars as their relevance and potential usage diminishes. History could well prove that now was a good time to start liquidating some stock.

Or, it could be the onerous responsibility of having so many cars. To keep them all in fine fettle, they all need regular charging, running, maintenance, taxing, insuring, servicing, MOTing, cleaning.....

Whatever the reason, its a bit of a gamble for CC to announce that so many cars will be coming to the market. It could spike interest, but it could also spook values, especially of other examples on the market

Certainly a lot of people will be watching with interest to see the outcome.

If he can afford to own and put them in a shed and not drive them for 20 or 30 years, then he probably wont be worried about petrol cars dieing out in 10 years or more. Nor is he likely to be that worried about price fluctuations - after all these are more collection pieces. Most likely he is of an age where his priorities have changed and its a good time to cash in and move on.

In short It is most likely his circumstance dictating the move and I wouldn't read too much into it.

Yeah this, and I wouldn't be so sure that the marxist EV future is going to take over as 'many' predict...

It wont because it cant. New electric cars are not cheap, a vauxhall corsa for example electric is around 30 grand. How many subsitance citizens can afford that as opposed the 500 quid rust bucket from gumtree? Also, pricing out petrol and diesel to force the change by taxing them hurts the same people. The poorest. And they all vote. Not to mention the haulage industry.

People with money, the kind that play golf and whose over made up mums do the school run to the private establishment their kids go to already have the unnecessary 2.2 tonne ev top of the range 4x4. It will take years and years for these to become affordable to the masses. In the meantime Boris or whoever is in the hot seat has elections to worry about so better not raise petrol prices or make people feel bad about going out of their house again for a drive somewhere.

It’s an amazing collection, but wouldn’t a true ‘petrolhead’ actually huge driven many of the cars a lot more?!

Add up the mileage on them and you might find it’s more than the average a person covers in a single car.

Maybe, I guess it depends how long the cars have been owned - weren’t there some 10+ year old cars with <1,000 miles?

The thing that struck me, apart from the sheer gobsmacking number of cars, was that the storage looked a bit sub optimal. Perhaps they were just there for PR purposes but they looked very cramped and a bugger to get in and out. Say for example you fancied a blast in the purple one it would take about a hour to get it out and you would need to move about ten other closely parked cars first. I actually winced when Chris Harris opened one of the doors as it was so close to one of the other cars. Given that some of those cars are real unicorns that have never been used I would have expected better.

Some tasty stuff for sure.

Looking at some of the ridiculously low mileages on those cars it is interesting how folks bang on about how little use and few miles contemporary Porsche GTs and other great cars do.

As if its something new.

If you mean International Collectibles I think it is. That was this car which I think is the same car

https://www.differsgroup.nl/1453-2/

International Collectibles had a JV with Differs for selling their clients cars....
