The welding on the tubular strut towers has triggered my OCD, and not in a good way.- ah no wrong reg, this one is local to me https://www.classicfordmag.co.uk/features/hyper-ca...
The 100E Prefect and Anglia ran from 1953 to 1959 with the Anglia being the 2 door version and the Prefect having 4 doors. When the Anglia 105E (reverse slope back window) was introduced in 1959 Ford needed a new "bargain basement" car so stripped out the old 100E Anglia and renamed it Popular. The easy way to tell a Popular from a 100E Anglia is the 3 round rear lights on each side so the photo is of a 100E Popular,
(They also stuck the 105E Anglia's 997cc engine in the Prefect and called it the 107E and this also continued for a couple of years alongside the Anglia 105E).
A 1961 Anglia should be a 105E. A 100E shape car in 1961 should be either a Prefect 107E or a Popular 100E. The number of doors should tell which is which.
The 100E engine size was 1172cc so 1162 in earlier posts seems like a mistake somewhere.
